The following is a collection of answers to some of the most common questions relating to hosting. If your question isn’t answered here, feel free to contact us and we’ll provide you with the answer.
How long does it take to set up my account?
New accounts are set up less than 24-48 hours after payment is made. You will have a temporary URL and FTP login because it takes a few days for your domain to point to your new hosting account.
How do I get my domain name to point to my new hosting account?
You can either let us register your domain and do it or register it yourself. If you do the latter, you will need to set the nameservers to these:
NS1.DNS-HE.COM
NS2.DNS-HE.COM
How do I access the control panel of my website?
You go to www.yoursite.com/cpanel and use your provided username and password. If your nameservers haven’t updated yet, go to www.aestheticstudios.com/cpanel and use your username and password.
How do I get files onto my new hosting account?
There are two ways you can upload files: either by using the built-in file manager that comes with your hosting account (log in to your control panel) or by using an ftp program, we suggest Filezilla. The address you use is ftp.yoursite.com.
Do you offer technical support?
Yes, if you are having problems, use the contact form on the contact us page and we’ll help solve your problem quickly.
What kind of email accounts do I get?
There are two main email accounts that you get with your hosting account:
- POP3 Email Account
With a POP3 email account, you have the ability to have email accounts with your domain name (info@yoursite.com) be accessed either online or through a desktop client. To access online, you go to www.yoursite.com/webmail and type in your username and password. To access it by a desktop client like Outlook or Thunderbird, use mail.yoursite.com as the incoming server. For the outgoing server, try mail.yoursite.com, but if that doesn’t work, consult your ISP (sometimes they require you to use their outgoing server, like smtp-server.austin.rr.com). For desktop clients we recommend Thunderbird because it has all the options Outlook has, but it’s free.
- Email forwarders
If you would like to have an email using your domain name (info@yoursite.com) but don’t want to switch from your current email address, you can use an email forwarder. When an email is sent to your forwarder, it gets forwarded to whatever email address you like. These can be set up in your website's control panel.
What happens if I go over my transfer limit?
An email warning will be sent before this happens informing you that you are close to your limit and offering to upgrade your account. If it does occur, you will incur a fee of $.05 per mb over
Can I get additional disk-space?
Yes, you can add additional space to your hosting account for $1 per 10mbs.
What statistical package do you offer to monitor my website?
All accounts include Webalizer Web Stats and a bandwidth monitor.
Does Aesthetic Studios offer third level domains (name.yoursite.com)?
Yes, all accounts include the ability to set up third level domains.
